Enjoy the perfect Christmas on Fuerteventura!

Christmas-in-Fuerteventura

Warm clothes, all together sitting in front of the chimney while drinking hot chocolate… That’s the image we all have of Christmas. A monotonous and repetitive image!

It’s time to change, and organize a different plan to spend these holidays with your family. What do we advise you? Pack your bags and buy your plane tickets to Fuerteventura, where you will enjoy a Christmas you will never forget!

Perfect weather for those dates

You will not enjoy a climate as intense as in the summer months. However, don’t you think that spending Christmas in temperatures between 16-25潞 C is an ideal choice? You know what that means, don’t you? Light clothes, some sweaters… and that’s it. No coats or jackets.

Not every day you will be able to take a nice swim on their fantastic beaches. But you will enjoy walking along the coast, with a nice breeze while the sea hits your feet. Or you can go on some of its hiking routes, discovering landscapes like you never dreamed of before.

The Corralejo market, the largest gathering of craftspeople on the island!

The gastronomy is one of the main charms of the island. However, during these important dates, there is a small sector that stands out from all the others: craftsmanship.

Every year several artisans from the island meet at the Corralejo market, exposing and selling the pieces they have made with original products from the island. There are not only ceramic stands and little items, but there are also stands specialized in Christmas sweets. A typical sweet of the island, obligatory to try at this time of the year, is the trout; a pasty filled with sweet potato or angel hair.

Visiting this market with children is a great idea, as many of these craftsmen offer activities for the little ones; they can prepare their own sweets and handicraft pieces, among other things.

A different way to celebrate the new year

Fuerteventura-Christmas

Have you ever wondered how it might feel to celebrate the end of the year a little later than everyone else you know? It could be a very interesting experience for your family. If you are really excited about living this experience, we suggest you come to Fuerteventura.

You will be able to taste some Christmas menus made with local products, such as cod, ‘cabrito’ -little lamb cooked in the spanish way- and rabbit in salmorejo. All this served with delicious wrinkled potatoes, ‘mojo pic贸n’ sauce and home-grown wines.

After a dinner like this, you have to lower the food by shaking the skeleton a little, don’t you think? On New Year’s Eve the best place to have fun is in Puerto Rosario’s Town Hall Square; where you will enjoy live performances, some surprises and fantastic weather all night long.
